2014 aesthetic

It's the New Year! 2014 is here, which means it'll take me a few months to remember to write 2014 instead of 2013 on homework. That also means resolutions and goals for the new year. For me, my goals for this year are the normal- create more things, make more youtube videos, try to do something with my life. But unlike any other year, I have a lot of fashion goals that I want to accomplish this year, and I wanted to post them!

1.
My first goal for this year is to completely clean out my wardrobe and throw out/donate/sell all of the clothes that I never wear and/or don't need. I actually did this a few days ago, but in a few months I'm going to go through my remaining clothes and be really honest with what I need and don't need. Right now I have SO much clothes that I can't bear to get rid of even though I never wear them. I feel like this will let me start fresh for the new year (and keep track of all of my clothes).

2.

My second fashion goal for this year is plaid. I've been really feeling plaid skirts, and I went to Topshop in Chicago about a week ago and I found a perfect plaid skirt. Unfortunately, it was $50, and way too much for a broke high school student like me. Hopefully I'll be able to find one soon, because they are definitely a necessity this year.

3.

Another necessity this year is velvet. I've been feeling velvet for a while, but I have been to broke to actually buy anything. At Topshop, I found amazing purple shorts, and even though they were on sale, they still were $30. But yesterday, I found a perfect green velvet skirt at Oasap for $15! I bought it, and it should be coming in a few days. I also really want either velvet shorts or a velvet dress.

4.

My fourth fashion goal this year is holographic/silver boots. I found these adorable ones from T.U.K, but they're $78, which is way too much. I'm hoping that by the end of the year I can afford them, or something like them. Since my black combat boots broke a few weeks ago (I'm crying) I've been looking everywhere for combat boots like them, and I'm really in love with the holographic feel of these boots.

5.

Finally, my last fashion goal of the year is thigh high socks. After trying to find the perfect pair of thigh highs for ages, I finally found some a week ago at H&M. They were $5, and I'm probably going to wear them every day because of how happy I am that I finally own thigh highs.

Those are my fashion goals for 2014! Looking forward to a cooler 2014, filled with plaid skirts and velvet dresses. And thigh highs. Obviously.

  1. One of my goals for the year was to clean out my wardrobe. I have so many clothes in great condition still that I just never wear. I also love all the other styles you posted here! I really want a plaid and a velvet skirt too!
